Olivia Clergue was born in Arles, in Provence, into an artistic family. Her father, the photographer Lucien Clergue, and her godfather, Pablo Picasso, both gave her an eye for art and a taste for sculpture, which she later studied at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, the Fine Arts Academy in Paris. She then completed a training course in fashion design and pattern making at the ESMOD Fashion School in Paris.

The designer entered the world of fashion, drawing her inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent’s clothes and accessories, which her mother collects in her Arlesian home and which she borrowed from her as a teenager. The elegance of the cut, the originality of the colors and the quality of the materials marked her and inspired her when she created her own accessories brand in 2008.

Particularly sensitive to the respect of men and their environment, Olivia Clergue wishes to design bags that are both elegant and feminine, while being eco-responsible and made in France. She has thus created a line of vegetable tanned calfskin bags, inspired by Camargue saddlery. Made with leather tanned according to natural process, ecological denim lining and lead-free brass buckles, this line is entirely eco-friendly.
